Tesla OEM sunshade vs aftermarket
Tesla’s kit is clip-in mesh if you want official hardware. Aftermarket shades are cut for that generation’s glass — and they are not the same product as the mesh. There is no universal 3/Y shade.

OEM is mesh
Model 3: Tesla mesh bundle, $115 at Tesla Shop. 2021+ Model 3. Lightweight mesh with a collapsible frame, clips to the interior glass. Front plus rear. Live URL is model-3-sunshade-bundle. No year selector. Highland 2024+ glass is a different curve than 2021–23; this listing does not split them. Mesh, not a full-blackout VION.
Model Y: Tesla Shop model-y-sunshades. Clip-in mesh, collapsible frame. Style picker is Rear Liftgate vs Glass Roof — no year selector. Glass Roof style is Prem/Perf 2025+ only — not Standard (covered / fabric headliner). Rear Liftgate is a different shade. No live dollar on our fetch, so we are not inventing a price. Not Highland 3.
Aftermarket is generation-locked glass
Highland 3: VION, about $59, full blackout dual-layer fabric. Not Juniper Y. Not 2017–23 Model 3.
Juniper Y: Sovtekr, about $39.99, black electrostatic, no clips. Not Highland 3. Not a pre-Juniper Y. Not a clip-in VION-style kit. Juniper Standard uses a covered / fabric headliner — there is still no shade to install on JY-Std.
Pre-Juniper Y: graphene 2-pc, not Juniper. 2021–23 Model 3: a different VION. 2017–20 Model 3: KUNIST. Y L glass is a different cut; we have not listed a Y L shade yet.
Worth it if the glass cooks the cabin
A shade cuts the soak. It is optional. Skip it if you garage the car or do not mind the heat. It is not a window tint and it is not a crash part. Windshield visors (Spigen ZeroGap / CryoShade) are a separate parked-car card — not a roof shade.
