Snuuzu Model Y Mattress

I bought the Snuuzu for my 2026 Model Y, and it’s one of my favorite accessories for the car. It’s expensive, and after using it I understand why.

Maker-confirmed compatibility

Snuuzu lists the Model Y mattress for all Model Y versions, including the Juniper redesign. My fit data covers 2020–2026 five-seat Model Y.

Not covered

Model 3 (Snuuzu makes a separate, 18 cm Model 3 version). I haven’t used it on a Model Y L, and Model Y L fit isn’t confirmed here.

The price made me hesitate, and it is still the biggest drawback. The fit is good, it’s comfortable, and it feels designed around sleeping in a Model Y rather than being an air mattress that happens to fit in the back.

Setup and storage

Setup is the best part. I fold the seats down, roll the mattress out and use the built-in pump, so there is no separate pump to carry and no loose pieces. Charge the pump before you leave.

Packing up is just as easy. The bag is built into the mattress, so once it’s deflated I roll it up and it becomes its own duffel. Packed, it is roughly 29 × 13 inches, which matches Snuuzu’s listed 74 × 32 cm, and it fits in the Model Y sub-trunk. It doesn’t take over the cargo area during the day, and I get the space back in the morning.

Comfort and trade-offs

It is about 20 cm thick, which Snuuzu also lists for the Model Y version, so it feels much more substantial than thinner Tesla mattresses. I can adjust the firmness by letting some air out, and it doesn’t have the usual air-mattress feel.

The thickness has two costs. I lose some headroom because I’m sitting higher in the car, and on my Model Y the mattress blocks the rear screen once it’s set up, which is a shame because the rear screen would be useful while lying in the back, especially in Camp Mode. Neither is a dealbreaker for me, but both are worth knowing about before spending this much.

Who it’s for

The price will scare some people off, and if you’ll only sleep in your Tesla once or twice, cheaper options make more sense. If you road trip, camp or sleep in the car often, the Snuuzu is well thought out.

Support

My mattress had a small manufacturing defect. Snuuzu responded quickly and fixed it. It was a minor problem, but it was good to see a company handle it well on a product this expensive. Snuuzu lists a 3-year warranty and says individual parts can be replaced.

Initial impressions

EVject Escape Connector 2.0

Initial impressions: it’s well made, smaller than I expected, and charging works normally with it installed. I haven’t tested the emergency breakaway, so this is not a test of what it is built for.

Price when I looked on Sep 9, 2026: $299 (Amazon listing and EVject’s store). The Amazon listing showed “Currently unavailable” when I checked on Oct 3, 2026; that check says nothing about EVject’s own store.

EVject lists Model Y (all years), Model 3 (2019 and newer), Cybertruck (all years) and Model S/X (2023 and newer) as separate variants. The Amazon listing I link is the Model 3/Y NACS version.

Not covered

Model 3 2017–2018 and Model S/X before 2023 may need a modified version, per EVject. Cybertruck and S/X need their own variant. I haven’t used it on a Model Y L, and Model Y L fit isn’t confirmed here.

These are first impressions from using it on my car. It seats on the charger handle, plugs into the car, and I charged as usual. I had no fuss with it.

Size and build

It is smaller than I expected. In hand and on the port it feels solid, with a matte finish and a clean fit. It doesn’t look like a cheap spacer hanging off the car, which matters for something that sits between the charger handle and the port.

What it is meant to do

EVject describes it as a single-use emergency breakaway connector. I haven’t tested that function, and owning one doesn’t show that it will work when it’s needed. Consult EVject’s current operating instructions and your vehicle’s manual. This page isn’t a safety procedure.

Who it’s for

$299 is real money for a device you may never use. If you only charge at home in a locked garage, you can probably skip it. If you often charge in unfamiliar places or late at night, it is the roadside item I would look at first for that job, with the caveat that I haven’t tested the breakaway. It is ranked on the Roadside page on research, not on my ownership.
