Are Tesla mud flaps worth it?
Yes if the car sees slush, gravel, or dirty roads — and only if the kit clips the factory points for that generation. Skip anything that wants a drill.

When they earn their spot
The job is paint. Road spray hits the lower doors and rocker. A snap-in flap at the factory hole is cheap insurance. This site only ranks no-drill kits. If a listing wants you to drill the liner, skip it.
They are optional. If you live on clean pavement and do not care about the lower door, you can skip them. They are not day-one the way floor mats are.
Generation-locked clips
A current 5-seat Model Y flap will not clip a 2020–24 Y. A Highland 3 flap will not fit a Y. Model Y L wheel arches need a Y L-specific cut. Listings titled “fits all 2017–2026 3/Y” are usually wrong.
